The test specimen injection molds from F. & A. Carlon Clemente GmbH were specially developed for the production of standard test specimens and individual test specimens in the field of thermoplastics in accordance with ISO 294 and other international standards. Our tools offer you the opportunity to change between the cavities quickly and without disruption. Thanks to a well-thought-out locking system and the structure of our slide-in cassettes, we set innovative standards.

Standard base tool structure

With our master tool, we offer you an optimal solution for changing between different cavities quickly and without disruption. Thanks to the universal ejector package, we enable you to eject the test specimens outside of the areas relevant to the respective test. Our tool creates the prerequisites for tests according to automotive standards such as: B. VW PV, Daimler DBL and others. The quick-change system allows you to swap the inserts for the cavity on the movable side and the mirror plate on the nozzle side in the shortest possible time. To carry out the change, all you have to do is open a lock and the slot can be removed. There is no need for time-consuming disconnection of temperature control hoses and removal of screws. All basic tools are corrosion-coated for durability.

We, the team at F. & A. Carlon Clemente GmbH, offer you an insert for our master tools for all test specimen requirements. The inserts can be easily handled with one hand and their low weight ensures comfortable setup.


The cavities are manufactured according to all common standards or adapted to your requirements. To ensure that our tools do not wear out after just a few shots, we harden our inserts to 54 HRC. Engravings to identify the test specimens in the cavity are possible individually according to customer requirements. The surfaces of the cavities are line-polished, highly polished or scarred according to your specifications. We would also be happy to introduce your logo for you.


Would you like pressure monitoring during the spraying process in your cavity? Here we offer you the use of a cavity pressure sensor for precise pressure analysis. In addition to pressure analysis, we also offer you precise temperature monitoring of the entire tool. All of our tools are available with T-sprue, double T-sprue, Z-sprue, film sprue or side sprue. The type of sprue depends on the flow properties of the thermoplastics to be processed or the respective standard. We are also prepared to offer you tailor-made solutions in this area that are tailored exactly to your specific requirements, provided this is required by your laboratories.

Tool slots for shoulder bars/tension bars

In the area of tensile and bending tests, we offer you all standard tools for producing test specimens in accordance with all common standards.


Standard dimensions of the tension rods / shoulder rods according to ISO 527 and ASTM D638, ISO 37 and DIN 53504 (S1 rods, S2 rods), DIN EN ISO 1798, JIS 6301 and JIS K6251 and others are available as well as individual dimensions for your needs. Tools for creating a weld seam are also available as quick-change inserts. Depending on the dimensions of the tension rods/shoulder rods, there are 1 to 4 cavities.


Shoulder bars/tension bars are destroyed and analyzed in a tensile testing machine to determine a wide range of material characteristics. The quality of these samples depends to a very large extent on the correct execution of the injection molding tool. With our tools we guarantee you a standard or custom-made cavity! In addition to these tests, tension rods are also suitable for carrying out hardness tests.

Tool slots for rectangular panels, color sample panels, step panels and shrinkage panels

In the area of rectangular panels / shrinkage panels and sample panels according to ISO294 -3, among others, our tools also provide suitable quality for an optical quality determination for, for example, a test according to DIN EN ISO X12 or a determination of the gloss value according to DIN EN ISO 2813/ASTM D 2457. Furthermore We also offer our quick-change inserts with cavities that make it possible to produce step plates. The cavities are available according to all common standards (294-) as well as in individual dimensions. Standard film sprue butterfly sprue.


The accuracy of our tools is particularly beneficial when producing shrinkage plates according to ISO294-4.


Rectangular plates are suitable, for example, for testing the color fastness of thermoplastics or for determining shrinkage. In the automotive industry, rectangular panels are also used to test grains and textures.

Tool slots for flat bars, UL bars and ASTM bars

In order to ensure that your multi-purpose test specimens are manufactured in accordance with standards, including ISO 294 / UL 94 / various ASTM standards, we also offer you a high-precision manufactured solution. You benefit from our precise manufacturing, especially when producing test specimens that are used for mechanical tests.


In order to ensure an accurate determination of the fire properties of plastics, the UL company has developed a standard. We at F. & A. Carlon Clemente GmbH offer you the opportunity to produce your samples using our tools according to these standards. During a fire test according to e.g. B. UL-94, the UL rods are exposed to a defined flame to determine the fire properties.


For various impact tests and bending tests you need flat bars manufactured according to ISO 294. Producing the samples according to the standard is also particularly important here in order not to falsify the results obtained. In an impact bending and notched-bar impact test, the energy at which the test specimen fails is determined. Our tools guarantee consistent quality that creates comparable values worldwide.


Typical standards for these tests are:


    DIN EN ISO 180 IZODDIN EN ISO 179-1 or ASTM D 6110 CharpyISO 178 bending test, heat resistance ISO 75 / ISO 306, ball indentation hardness and many others.

Tool inserts for round test specimens

In addition to the tools for square samples, we also offer you quick-change tools for the production of round plates. Round plates are required, for example, for testing according to ISO 6603-2 or corresponding standards. Our cavities also provide optical quality if required.

Round plates are used in a variety of ways in testing laboratories. including for mech. / Opt. and flammability tests. Thanks to our production adapted to your needs, we are able to supply tools that make it possible to produce test specimens for optical tests, for example DIN 5033 or DIN ISO 105-X12. An increasingly important test in the area of fire resistance to electricity, which can be carried out with round plates, among other things, is IEC 60695 (flammability with electrical ignition sources).

The round plates produced can also be used for instrumented impact tests (puncture tests), for example according to ISO 6603-2.

Tool inserts for test specimens to determine flow properties

In order to test the flow properties of new plastics according to, for example, DIN EN ISO 1133 (determination of the melt mass flow rate/volume flow rate of thermoplastics), F. & A. Carlon Clemente GmbH offers you a cavity with marked route information. The tool is available as a flow bar and as a flow spiral/round flow spiral.

To determine the flow properties of new plastics, testing laboratories often produce a sample in the form of a spiral or flow bar. Temperature and pressure settings on the injection molding machine influence the flow behavior. The flow spiral is used to comparatively determine the flow properties of different thermoplastics.

With the tools from F. & A. Carlon Clemente GmbH, we ensure that these samples can always be precisely defined and a precise analysis of the flow properties is possible.

Preheat bag standard

Preheat pocket for inserts

So that you can make optimal use of our quick-change system, we have developed a preheating pocket that ensures optimal pre-temperature control of the inserts. Our preheating bag offers space for 5 slots as standard. The preheating device is conveniently connected to the temperature control circuit of the injection molding machine and the tool and can be filled with quick-change inserts as required. The changeable inserts can be used more quickly and long adjustment phases for temperature control between tool changes are no longer necessary. The preheating pocket also ensures optimal storage of the inserts and prevents damage.

The company F. & A. Carlon Clemente GmbH is known for optimal technical solutions in the field of plastic test specimen production. In addition to sophisticated quality tools for producing test specimens, we have thought one step further and developed a tool for optimal sample final processing. With our sprue separation tools we offer you the opportunity to further process your test specimens in a small but important step. An annoying, inaccurate separation of the sprue material is no longer necessary by placing the molded part in the device and operating the tool. The result is a cleanly separated test specimen that is now ready for all tests.


Our tool is equipped with a durable cutting edge and is available with three different attachments. Regardless of whether it is a tension rod, sample plate, shrinkage plate, step plate or UL rod, with our tool you will always get an optimal result. By using different knives, test specimens of different dimensions can be separated from your sprue without any problems.

Maintenance and repair for inserts and tools

During ongoing operation, high-gloss surfaces and materials inevitably suffer. So that you can maintain your high quality standards at all times, we offer you the maintenance and repair of your tool components.
